چکیده

Over the last few years the nature of armor tasks has changed rather QQ dramatically. In older tanks, tasks such as ranging to the target and leading a moving target have a large skill component. With the advent of ^^ the laser rangeflnder and automatic lead components built Into modem fire ©control systems, these tasks have become largely automated and thus easier to execute. However, the preand post-operation procedures required by these sophisticated systems are quite complex and difficult to learn. Complicating this training problem is the fact that procedural skills are particularly susceptible to forgetting over periods of no practice. Because of the importance of procedural skills to armor performance, the ARI Field Unit at Fort Knox has been Involved In developing methods for training and sustaining procedural skills.

Estimation of Water Retention Curve for Unsaturated Fine Soils

In order to obtain the soil water retention curve of an unsaturated soil which is defined as the relationship between water content and suction, extensive laboratory tests are essential. These laboratory tests are usually costly and time consuming. Moreover, for most practical problems, it has been found that approximate unsaturated soil properties are adequate for analysis. Thus, empirical pro...

Effects of Dietary Crude Protein Level and Stocking Density on Growth Performance, Nutrient Retention, Blood Profiles, and Carcass Weight of Growing-Meat Quails

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effect of stocking density on growing-meat quail performance (experiment I) and the effect of dietary crude protein (CP) levels and stocking density on growth performance, nutrient retention, blood metabolites, and carcass weight of growing-meat quails under high ambient temperature (experiment II). Three hundred and eighty male growing-meat quails...

Investigation on Microstructure, Lattice and Structural Chemistry of Biogenic Silver Nanoparticles

The use of plant extract in the biosynthesis of nanoparticles (NPs) can be an eco-friendly approach and have been suggested as a possible alternative to classic methods namely physical and chemical procedures. This study was designed to examine the structural chemistry of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using both conventional heating and microwave irradiation methods. To o...

Reliability analysis of rubble-mound breakwaters against the failure due to the armor layer instability based on the fuzzy random variables theory: A case study of Anzali Port breakwater

Breakwaters are among the most frequently-used coastal protective structures and their stability is vital to avoid turbulence at the ports. The main purpose of the present research is to use the theory of fuzzy random variables and the second-order reliability method (SORM) to study the reliability of a rubble-mound breakwater against the failure due to the armor layer instability. The limit-st...
